User management
The tab 'users' lists all currently defined users. Please see the screenshot directly below:
By clicking menu⁄user⁄add you can add a new user. A new user is automatically granted access to the default database. A user is assigned a username, password and notes. The notes are only visible in the Administrator program.
Menu⁄user⁄modify allows modification of the user-password and the user-notes.
Menu⁄user⁄delete deletes the selected user.
The tab 'user permissions' lists all currently defined users for each database separately. Please see the image below:
To assign user-rights for global access of a user to a database, first select this database using the database combo. Then assign access-rights for each user on that database by clicking once or twice inside the first column (the column 'Allow access').
Clicking inside this column rotates the database user-rights: clicking when 'No' is displayed, will change user-access to the current database into 'Yes'; on the other hand, clicking inside this column when 'Yes' is displayed, will change the 'User type' to 'Power user'.
Finally, clicking inside the first column when 'Power user' is displayed will set the database access for this user back to 'No'.
For specifying user-rights on a more detailed level (subtree-level, node-level and article-level), you need to run TreePad X Client when logged in as 'Power user'. TreePad X Client allows setting user-rights for each article and subtree separately.
More information on how to define node and article-level security, can be found in the article: Specific features for power users
