The Internal and External Tree Clipboard
Internal Tree Clipboard
TreePad Enterprise offers two types of Tree Clipboard. By default, TreePad Enterprise utilizes the the internal Tree Clipboard (which uses only your computer's internal memory, making it fast, efficient and reliable).
The internal tree clipboard can copy⁄paste subtrees inside the same database fast and efficiently, as well as copy⁄paste subtrees between different databases which are open inside the same program, but not to⁄from other TreePad programs which might be running.
External Tree Clipboard
Only use the external Tree Clipboard unless you want to copy⁄paste to⁄from other TreePad programs.
In order to copy⁄paste to⁄from other TreePad programs, you need to enable the external tree clipboard in the settings screen.
When the external Tree Clipboard option is enabled, and after you copy a subtree (or node), a file named clipboard.hjt is created in the Windows temp folder (the folder for temporary files). If the copied node or subtree contains user-assigned node icons or images, a second file, clipboard.tpz, is created to store them. If the next node or subtree copied to the TreePad Clipboard does not contain any such icons or images, clipboard.tpz will automatically be deleted.
